Domestic Recycling
Cumberland Council are responsible for the collection of domestic bins which are emptied on a weekly on rotation; Refuse one week, materials for recycling the next. Garden waste with the non-cycling refuse.

Refuse:
Large grey wheelie bin: Household non-recylable waste.
Green Box: Empty glass bottles and jars, cleaned. Empty food tins and cans, cleaned. Empty aerosol cans. NO PYREX GLASS / CERAMICS / FOIL.
Green bag (paper and cardboard): Paper, newspapers, greetings cards, catalogues & old directories. Cardboard boxes, packaging boxes, cardboard egg boxes, cereal boxes.Drink and food cartons.
Green bag (plastics): Plastic bottles, tubs, yoghurt pots, cleaned. Plastic food trays and containers, cleaned. NO PLASTIC BAGS / FILM / PLANT POTS / BUBBLE WRAP.
Garden waste:
Large GREEN wheelie bin: Compostable / vegetable waste only.
Public Recycling
The nearest public recycling site is at Bowsteads Grassing, Carlisle and is run by Cumberland Counil.
