   Urgent temporary road closure    30 January, 2023

An urgent temporary road closure has been put in place to allow Balfour Beatty to carry out urgent highway repairs ("the Works"), Cumbria County Council prohibits with immediate effect the passage of vehicular traffic along that section of A689 Carlisle from its junction with the A595 to its junction with the A7, as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.

This notice will be in force for a period not exceeding 5 days from 30th January 2023.  It is expected that the Works will take 3 days, between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00.

Location: A689 Carlisle from its junction with the A7 to its junction with the A595

Alternative Route: Via the A7 and A595 and a way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
