   Monkhill Chapel newsletter 13th June 2021    13 June, 2021
Hello everyone,
Sorry I haven't managed to get this out on the usual day this week but here it is now.
First a reminder that we are holding our second cleaning morning this week on Thursday 17th at 10am starting with coffee.  This in preparation of course for our anticipated re-opening for worship on Sunday 4th July at 10.30am and recommencement of Lunch with Us on the 29th.

What a difference a week makes! What a roller-coaster of a ride! Just as we are starting to get comfortable with more freedoms, we eagerly await confirmation tomorrow that these will continue or not, as the case may be.
Some words from our Minister, Revd David Newlove on the following text from Jeremiah ch. 29 v.11:-
For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord
Plans to prosper you and not to harm you
Plans to give you hope and a future
"I know this is a well used text but I post it now for us all at this uncertain time. When I committed to leave my last appointment and enter stationing God gave me this verse. I’m at the Superintendents Conference this week and we are thinking about how we plan for the future as we return to onsite activities and the text has returned to me - not just for me personally but for us all as a Circuit. Do you believe this? Can/will you put your trust in God in these uncertain times? Let’s look and pray together for where God will lead us."

I also encourage you to pray for the G7 in Cornwall that world leaders may work together, unite and aim for a fairer world, not self interest but shared interest, particularly with a World Vaccination Programme in mind and funding for it.
Don't forget about a great opportunity to give thanks for your vaccine by making a donation to Christian Aid. Search: giving.give-star.com cumbria  (Giving thanks for our vaccine in the Cumbria Methodist District)

Through listening to various services that are out there, I usually manage to pick up and remember a few great sayings that, without on-line, I would otherwise have missed. Such as :

We can be the salt and light bringing our the God flavours and colours in this world.

When going back to Church, don't be afraid. Get your body there and your heart will soon catch up!

Thanks for your patience and hope to get next week's news out on the usual day.
Keep safe,
Lynne
