   Monkhill Chapel newsletter 27th February 2021    27 February, 2021

Good evening all,

at the end of a beautiful "Spring-like" day which I understand will continue until the middle of next week - sure to lift many people's moods after a long, cold winter.

As stated in the Chapel News on 16 January, the proposal for the formation of a new Circuit between the North Cumbria Circuit and the Wigton Circuit was put to our Circuit meeting on Zoom last Thursday evening and put also to the Wigton Circuit meeting held on the same evening. Harold and Kathleen represented Monkhill and the proposal was accepted, as it was by the Wigton Circuit also. The new Circuit will be known as the North Cumbria Methodist Circuit (for obvious reasons as that;s what it is and also for ease as our Circuit already has Charity status in that name). The new Circuit comes into being on 1 September but, of course, now the hard work starts to get everything ready for then.

It is proposed by the Government that on Monday 21 June all Covid-19 restrictions be lifted (assuming infection levels, hospital admissions and deaths from Covid continue to fall). If all this works out, and we hope and pray it does, them there will be no reason why Lunch with Us can't resume on Thursday 24 June. Please put this date in your diary and be prepared to help. Also remember, due to the new Kitchen being fitted, painting being done and the Chapel not being used for some considerable time, there is a good deal of "Spring Cleaning" to be done, again your help is required. We will be in touch with you about it in due course.
