Beaumont Parish Hall Wildlife Garden - Latest News    15 May, 2018

The site has been planted with a meadow area and what will eventually become a woodland zone. All the species used are native to the Cumbria Area.

Our thanks to Friends of the Lake District and Cumbria County Council for their generous funding to complete this stage, and Cumbria Wildflowers at Great Orton for their expert advice, and the supply of all our seed and plants.

Special thanks also to our farming community for the use of the necessary machinery and time to prepare the site, and to our community volunteers, who over a two-day period scattered a large quantity of seed and planted about 1100 individual plug plants and bulbs!

Although the site will take 2-3 years to mature properly, there will still be things of interest to see. Our next stages will be to seek funding to provide proper access to the site, and other features to improve the project.

Updates about the project will feature on the parish website www.beaumont-pc.org.uk
