Dementia Friends session at Penrith Community Fire Station    25 April, 2017

Dementia Friendly Communities is a programme which raises awareness of Dementia and supports the creation of Dementia Friendly hubs. Everyone, from local government, the NHS, retailers, pubs, community groups, transport providers and many more share part of the responsibility for ensuring that people with dementia feel understood, valued and able to contribute to their community.

Dementia Friends Information Sessions are run by volunteer Dementia Friends Champions, who are trained and supported by Alzheimer’s Society.  The sessions are ideal for families members, friends and neighbours of those living with Dementia.  Each Information Session lasts around one hour.

A Dementia Friends session will be running at
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service HQ on Tuesday 9th May 12:30-13:30: to book onto this session please visit the following website:-
