From Carlisle City Council:There is a national shortage of HGV drivers and we are in the process of recruiting more staff. We also are dealing with absences due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. We have redeployed staff from other services, and we have taken on some agency staff, however we are still not fully staffed. We are prioritising refuse then recycling then garden waste collections. Unfortunately over the past few weeks we have not been able to provide services to full capacity and have been unable to collect garden waste from some areas. If your garden waste isn’t collected, please take your bin back in and present it for your next scheduled collection unless advised otherwise. Please check the City Council website regularly for updates.
